Suzanne Porter Obituary

Suzanne Groves Porter, 81, of Plano, IL passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 in Shabbona Healthcare Center in Shabbona, IL. She was born November 15, 1930 in Hinsdale, IL the daughter of James M. and Irene (Cox) Groves. She married Paul Earl Porter on August 25, 1950 in Hinsdale, IL. She graduated from Hinsdale High School in 1948, and graduated from William Woods College. She was a member of the Plano School Board for four years. She was a loving wife, mother and imaginative homemaker. She enjoyed painting and loved animals of all kinds. She is survived by her children, Susan (Dennis) Moss of Plano, IL, Paul "Steve" (Edith) Porter of Idaho Falls, Idaho, James (Kathy) Porter of Plano, IL, David "Bill" (Teresa) Porter of Oswego, IL and Dan (Ken Rafowitz) Porter of Minneapolis, MN; fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and one nephew and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, Paul Earl Porter, and one brother, James "Bud" Groves. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home, 3952 Turner Ave. Plano, IL, with a celebration of Suzanne's life being held at the end of visitation at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Butler Cemetery Oakbrook, IL.
