Steve was born to Frances Marchinkourska and Joseph Knapkiewicz on June 20, 1924 in Chicago, IL. He served in WWII as an army medic and was honorably discharged in February 1946. He married Agnes Lagina on July 20, 1947. They lived much of their lives in Chicago, IL before locating to Hodgkins, IL. Steve is survived by two daughters Christine Zagorski of Willow Springs, IL and Frances Stewart of Pheonix, AZ, three grandchildren Christopher Zagorski of Chicago, IL, Joseph Zagorski of Chicago, IL and Lisa Imoto of Mountain View, CA, and three great grandchildren Huck, Sophie and Bennett. He was proceeded in his death by his wife Agnes, who passed away in December 3, 1998.
