Sherman E. Brown

JUNCTION CITY: Sherman E. Brown, 93, of Junction City, Ohio died at 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at his home. Born September 7, 1917 in Junction City, Ohio to the late Perley G. and Effie Lott Brown.

Sherman graduated from the Junction City-Jackson High School in Junction City in 1935; he entered the United States Army in 1942 and served as a teletype operator for the 21st Bomber Command of the U.S. Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during WWII. He left the Army as a Tech/Sgt. in 1945.

Sherman was retired from the Rush Creek Clay Company of Junction City and was a retired associate of the Roberts Funeral Home, New Lexington, Ohio.

Member of the Junction City First United Methodist Church and attended Covenant Community Church of New Lexington. Sherman was a man of integrity and great conviction who put God, Family and Friends above all else. He will be dearly missed.

Survived by wife, Marguerite Snider Brown of the home, whom he married on June 19, 1946; they would have celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary this June; daughter, Janice (Dave) Ream of Junction City; four granddaughters, Keely Hankinson, Amy Finck, Angela Ream and Mary Pollock; five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Calvyn, Madeline and Kyndal; sister, Mary A. Brown of Junction City.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by son, Jerry Brown; daughter-in-law, Margaret Storts Brown and granddaughter, Kimberlee Brown.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. William Snider and Rev. Sanford Short officiating. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by James E. Fisher Post #376, American Legion of Junction City, Ohio.
