Sherill Crivello Obituary

Sherill Mae Crivello

Born: September 12, 1936; in Taylorville, IL

Died: April 3, 2017; in Monticello, IN

Sherill Mae Crivello, 80, of Monticello, passed away at 10:52 am, Monday, April 3, 2017 at I U Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.

She was born on September 12, 1936 in Taylorville, IL to the late Russel and Mary (Fields) Harrold. On June 22, 1958 she married Joe Crivello at the Methodist Church in Taylorville, IL and he survives.

Sherill was very bright and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a double major in Math and chemistry. She taught school until the first child was born and was then a homemaker. She enjoyed making blankets and Christmas ornaments, knitting, and any type of handcrafts. All of her children and grandchildren had personalized blankets. She was a Girl Scout cookie mother. She was interested in family genealogy and traced her family back to the Mayflower and Joe's family back to Italy. She was an avid Purdue fan and never missed a season of home games in 58 years. Sherill was heavily involved in and a driving force of the July 4th Honor Our Military Patriotic Boat Parade started in 2005. Sherill cherished time spent with her family and especially enjoyed family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was keen on keeping track of all nine grandkids and made annual ceremonial Bug's Bunny birthday cakes. She offered unconditional love to her family.

She attended the Monticello United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three children, Karen Layton of St. Louis, MO, Katy (Jim) Osborne of Indianapolis, and Kelly (Thomas) Moody of Pearland, TX; sister, Judith (Lee) DeWerff of Nokomis, IL; and nine grandchildren.
