RUTH ELIZABETH WALKER Ruth Elizabeth Walker, age 83, of Harvard, died Monday, October 28, 2013, at her home. Ruth was born April 8, 1930 to Claude O. and Myrtle (Pihl) Pagles in New Milford, Illinois. She married Howard E. Walker on Sept. 17, 1955 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard. She had worked at Walmart as a sales clerk for 23.5 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard, and part of the WELCA church group. She also enjoyed crafts, cake decorating, traveling, and was an avid Cubs fan. Survivors include her husband: Howard E. Walker of Harvard, 2 sons: Wesley (Yvonne) Walker of Elkhorn, WI and Edwin (Anne) Walker of Palatine, 1 daughter: Lorna (Todd) Miller of Greensboro, North Carolina, 5 grandchildren: Broderick & Myles Walker, Chloe Walker, and Kristin & Alan Miller, 2 sisters: Hanna Brady and Jeanette McCullough, a sister-in-law: Delores Hobbs, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, a brother: Orville Pagles, and a sister: Gertrude Sward. The visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, November 1, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 504 E. Diggins St., Harvard, IL 60033. And again, from 10:00-11:30 AM Saturday, November 2, at the church. The funeral will be at 11:30 AM Saturday, November 2, at the church. The Rev. Herb Priester will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Harvard.
