Russell Haidle Obituary
Russell F. Haidle, 81, of Elmhurst. Beloved husband of Patricia nee Gamble; father of Nancy, David (Donna) and Douglas (Azniv); grandfather of Alice, Kevork, Samuel, Benjamin and Grace; dear son of the late Albert and Blanche Haidle; brother of the late Ralph (Phyllis) and James; brother-in-law of Marilyn Haidle; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He taught at W.A. Johnson Elementary School, Bensenville for over 30 years and taught tennis for the Elmhurst Park District for over 26 years.
Memorial Services 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Epiphany Ev. Lutheran Church, 314 W. Vallette St., Elmhurst. Interment Private.
In lieu flowers, memorials will be appreciated for the A.L.S. Association of Greater Chicago Chapter.

A very real teacher and a great mentor to kids with tennis. He was my sixth grade teacher a Roosevelt School in Elmhurst 1960 Great smile good sense of fairness and taught me peristalsis in reverse. Inspired me to continue to play tennis. I'm sorry I missed him in life.

I googled his name today and found out he had died. I was so sorry to hear this. He was my favorite teacher in maybe all of my school days. I was in his first class at Johnson School in 1962. We had some squirrely kids in that class, including me. He was always patient and fair with us. I was just thinking of the auction he would have at the end of the year to get rid of stuff in our "lost and found." The punishments he handed out could be fun. What a wonderful man he was!
