Rudolph Herbert Gebner

Rudolph "Rudy" Herbert Gebner, 77, passed away at his home in Westmont on Wednesday, June 22, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Rudy was born to Herbert and Rose Gebner and was raised in Northfield, Illinois, where he attended New Trier High School. After high school, Rudy enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving for four years in the role of Radar Specialist. He was married to his wife, Karen, for 54 years. Rudy was a long time employee of Argonne National Lab. He had many interests including boating, fishing, and photography and was a member of The Woodland Aero Modelers Club and Aurora Sportsmen's Club. However, Rudy's greatest joy was spending time with his family, which grew to include four children and nine grandchildren.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Kevin and Keith Gebner; daughters, Renee Gebner and Robin Piraino; and grandchildren, Justin, Adam, Kailyn, Michael, Aaron, Jenna and Benjamin Gebner, and Nicholas and Ashley Piraino.

The family has held a private celebration of life.

The family requests that memorials be made to American Parkinson Disease Association at www.apdamidwest.org.
