Roger Black Obituary
Roger Glenn Black, age 70, of Cicero, IL, formerly of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018.
He was born in Russellville, Alabama to Robert & Effie (Taylor) Black. He was a lifelong sportsman, hunter, and fisherman. He was a skilled craftsman and builder and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a devout Christian all of his life.
The visitation was 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville, Alabama. The graveside service was at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Taylor Cemetery with Bro. Jim Nichols officiating. Burial will be at Taylor Cemetery in Russellville, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Black and Effie Taylor Black, both of Russellville, Alabama.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Minerva Rojas-Huesca of Cicero, IL; sister, Linda Woodrough (husband, Dave) of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Arnulfa Herrig. He was the uncle to Charles R. Herrig; as well as uncle of three nephews and three nieces, eight great-nephews, seven great-nieces, and one great-great niece.
