Robert Bell Obituary

Robert H. Bell, 87, of Darien, Illinois, formerly of Park Forest, Illinois, at rest August 28, 2008. Born July 2, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois. Beloved husband of Irene B. Bell nee Barton; loving father of Susan B. (Richard) Hetke and Joanne B. (Michael) Kennedy; grandfather of Kristin (Kenneth) Jones, Brian Hetke, Michael (Meghan) Hetke, Lisa Lewis and Lindsey (Kyle) Hackbarth; great grandfather of Paige and Owen Jones and Greyson Hackbarth; brother of Anne (the late Fred) Cvetko, George (Doris) Bell and William (the late Clara) Bell; uncle of many. Mr. Bell was a veteran of WWII serving as a First Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps; he was a pilot stationed in the Pacific Theater and the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross; After the War he worked for Swift & Company in Chicago as Employee Benefits Manager; his greatest joy was being with his family. Memorial service Saturday, September 20, 2008, 12:00PM at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St. (1 blk. S. of Ogden), Downers Grove. Interment Private.
