Richard SCHREIBER Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Richard Jason Schreiber, 41, died on Friday, March 2, 2012.
Jason has been a Peninsula resident most of his life. He was employed with Capital Lighting. Jason loved to play softball and was a lifeguard.
Survivors include his wife, Kristie Schreiber; five children, Brittnie Michelle Schreiber, of Virginia Beach, Alyssa Haley Schreiber, Joshua David Schreiber, Edward Alexander Hoffman and Devon Lou Hoffman, all of Newport News; his father, Richard W. Schreiber (Lea) of Fort Myers, Fla.; and three sisters, Sharon Lynn Schreiber, of Hampton, Jodi Lynn Schreiber, of Naples, Fla., and Kelly Lynn Wells, of Harbor Springs, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Dame.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, with a memorial service to follow at 2:30 p.m. at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in honor of Alyssa Schreiber, 5712 Cleveland Street, Suite 100, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
Jason was a tissue donor and through his donation with LifeNet he will continue to touch many other lives. According to his daughter Alyssa "Dad has just left his home on earth to go pitch for the Angels. He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family."
