Paul Vasich Obituary

Paul Vasich

Paul Vasich, age 79, late of Westmont, formerly of Winfield, Illinois passed away peacefully on April 25, 2017. He was surrounded by the love of his family in his final days.

Dearest brother of Vivian (the late Lee ) Bessler and William (Charlotte) Vasich. Beloved Uncle Paul to Tina (Jack ) Leonard, Linda Bessler, Thomas Bessler, Joseph (Leslie) Vasich, Michael (Melissa) Vasich, William (Harmoni) Vasich; and 14 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William M. Vasich Sr. and Louise A. (Owsianka) Vasich.

After graduating J.S. Morton High School in Cicero, Paul enlisted in the USAF. He spent over 3 years stationed at Lockbourne, AFB in Columbus, Ohio where he maintained SAC bombers during the Cold War period. Later Paul was employed at Sears as an electronic technician. He retired with over 30 years' service.

Paul's passions were steam trains and photography. He combined them on many train excursions across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This led to a collection of audio and video tapes, as well as photographs that he developed and printed himself. While living in Winfield, he enjoyed capturing nature scenes at Cantigny Park Gardens and other local forest preserves. His gentle spirit will be missed by his family.
