Michael Assaf Obituary

Our family was saddened to hear of the loss of your loved one, Michael. Please accept our condolences. May you draw comfort in reflection in the account found at Mark 5:38-43.

For Anna, the kids, and the rest of the family, I am so sorry for your loss. Mike is a good man and I am thankful to have had Mike in my life as a friend. You had a wonderful husband and father for the time that you had him - although way to short of a time. As much as it hurts now, you can be thankful for that at least becasue not everyone gets that in life. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so saddened to learn of Michael's passing. I have this memory of him as a very young boy learning the fundamentals from Sesame Street, I was amazed at his knowledge for his age and his obvious love for learning. It is no surprise he went on to become an excellent teacher and coach and make such a lasting impact on so many peoples lives. His children leave a lasting legacy of Michael. May everyone who knew Michael and particularly the entire Assaf Family find comfort in those special memories of the happy years spent together and may those treasured moments bring you happiness again. There are only so many people we meet where we look back and say, " he was a special guy". Mike was a really special guy. The world is a better place because of him. May The Lord give comfort and peace to his family and close friends.

My prayers and sympathy go out to his entire family. I never met Michael in person, I just spoke to him on the phone and he was such a nice person. I am so sorry for your loss. I work at state farm and spoke with him often and will miss him.

I will miss Michael. My first memory of him, when I was newly in practice, was of him carrying Anna, when they were dating, into my office when she had sprained her ankle. That is the Michael that I will never forget. Taking care of Anna, his family, his friends, and his students...and always smiling when doing it.

Michael we will miss you very much. It was a honor to have you in our family. You will always be in our hearts and thoughts. We will see you again some day.

I am honored to have had him as my teacher. He was both a role model and inspiration to us all. I even had a light saber duel with him on the last day of school. That red, light saber he brought home was a gift from me to him, to give to your son. I will forever cherish the memories I had with him; everything from his teachings, to his jokes yelled across the halls. Rest in peace, Jedi warrior.

Mr. Assaf was such an inspiration to my daughter as a teacher, mentor & role model. She always spoke very highly of him. Our deepest condolences for you & your family. May he now rest in peace.

We are so sorry for the loss your family is going through. Mike was a kind and caring person, and will be missed by many.

I have known Michael a very long time as well as his entire family. My heart is filled with sorrow for his wife, children, sister, parents and all that knew and loved him. His positive attitude and kind, jovial spirit all the way through the end of his life should serve as an inspiration to all of us. I know it will for me.

I don't know Mike personally, but have heard what a kind man he is from my sister (Kathy Lingafelter) who taught summer school with him in Joliet. I'm so sorry for your loss. Please know your entire family is in my prayers and thoughts.
