COOKIE, SORRY TO BE SO LATE WITH THIS,
I WAS JUST TOLD RECENTLY OF MAX'S PASSING. I'VE LIVED IN TENNESSEE FOR
THE LAST 6 YEARS AND DON'T GET MUCH
NEWS FROM CHICAGO ANYMORE. MY ASSOCIATION WITH MAX AT THE CADILLAC STORE WAS BRIEF IN TERMS OF TIME, BUT
RICH IN QUALITY OF THINGS I LEARNED
FROM HIM,NOT JUST BUSINESS RELATED,BUT
ON A DEEPLY PERSONAL LEVEL. I MET MAX AFTER HIS ACCIDENT WHEN HE WAS STILL IN
REHAB, AND WE TALKED MANY HOURS ABOUT HOW LIFE CAN THROW CURVES AT YOU AND HOW A STRONG PERSON CAN OVERCOME THEM.
HE TALKED OF HOW HE MADE IT THROUGH IT ALL WITH YOUR SUPPORT AND LOVE AND SAID HE COULND'T HAVE DONE IT ALONE. IT WAS A LIFE LESSON WELL LEARNED FOR ME WHEN I SUFFERED A MILD STROKE IN 2006 AND FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE DIDN'T TRY TO GO IT ALONE,AND ACTUALLY LET SOMEONE HELP ME THROUGH IT...THAT PERSON BECAME MY WIFE LATER THAT SAME YEAR...I'LL MISS MAX DEARLY, IT WAS A PRIVILEGE TO WORK WITH A LIVING LEGEND OF THE BUSINESS.
TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS...

Cookie, I'm so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed talking with Max and will especially remember his bright, cheerful greeting to me as he walked into the barn - that laugh and that smile. He was truly a gentleman and made everyone around him feel comfortable and welcomed. His devotion to you, and you to him, was something to be admired. I hope that you will find peace in the many wonderful memories you have of your time together.

Max was a true gentleman. Our family has wonderful memories of him in the fox hunting field. But what I remember most is the true love between he and Cookie, what a special gift.

Max Cohen is a LEGEND in the automotive industry. He is known from sea to sea as being a fair and competative businessman and for his 50 years of being a "car guy". He was my mentor and a cherished friend. I am fortunate to have known him and know his dear wife Cookie. Max, I will miss you so very very much. With love and respect, Susan
