Pat:

Please know that I continue to think of and pray for your family during this difficult time. A memory I have is when the boys were on the Lombard Waves together the summer after 2nd grade. Matt (and everyone else) were on the blocks waiting to start the race. Suddenly, Matt shouted out "Wait"; all attention focused on him. With a straight face, he announced, "There's a penny at the bottom of the pool." I'm not sure how the officials felt about this, but Tom & I still chuckle over it. I remember too that Mrs. Egan came to watch a meet that summer cause several of her 2nd grade students were on the team including Matt & Tom. Tom "retired" from competition after that summer, but how wonderful that Matt continued on in the sport.

Praying that the happy memories will sustain you in your grief.

Please accept my deepest sympathy. I had the wonderful opportunity of being a part of Matt's middle school years as one of his teachers and will always remember him for his carefree smile and great sense of humor. May all of you have continued support and comfort during this time.

Please accept our deepest sympathy at this most tragic time. Matt was always full of energy and fun, and a touch of "Eddie Haskell". I remember once when he was at our house for a sleepover with Trevor, John, Chris and Tom. He was telling a joke that was a bit "off-color", and wasn't aware that I was nearby in the kitchen and could hear every word. As soon as he finished, I called down the stairs with the comment "Nice, Matt" - and I heard him gasp as the others laughed (and I did as well)! We hope that you will find some measure of comfort in the many great memories we all share as you walk this difficult road. Please know that Matt will not be forgotten. The Hollowed Family
