Mary and I go way back. I met Mary in Sunday School at Trinity Lutheran Church also in West Chicago. She was my first friend in a new church at 7 yrs. old. We remained friends all through school, and into adulthood. Although I haven't seen Mary for about 20 years, She has always had a special place in my heart. Rest in Peace Mary. God's Peace and Comfort and Love be with the rest of the Hattula Family.

I am so sad to hear this. I am a cousin of Mary's - my grandmother, Susan Minnett, was a sister of Mary's father, and my mom was her cousin Lois Carlisle. Mary was a couple of years older than me, and I remember her and her sister coming to visit us up in Trout Creek when we were all kids. I haven't seen her since those days. My condolences to her family.

Love, Suzie

I, too, remember her from high school and, more vividly, from junior high. She was a very good soccer player! Although I never kept up with her thereafter, please accept my sympathies and know I am so sorry to hear of her passing.

I remember Mary from high school, but had not seen her since that time. She had a tough life from the beginning. I hope she has the peace and serenity she so dearly deserved. I am so sorry I didn't see you again.

My sympathy goes to you all. I was sorry to hear of your loss. It has been a number of years since I have seen Mary, I believe it was she, Ted and Julia in Yorkville one day. Mary was a year ahead of me in school, so we never had any classes together - but I do remember one day out in the ball field and the woman's softball team was practicing. The only player I remember seeing that day (more than 35 years later) was Mary. I remember watching her at bat ... the girl could hit a ball. And she was also the catcher, at least that day she was ... and a batter hit the ball out into the field, and the runner that was on second was making it for home, the ball was rocketed to home plate, and I remember Mary pulling her facemask off and tossing to the side, grabbing the ball out of the air and swinging back and getting the runner out at home ... Mary was one tough player!
