Dear Kathy, George and Family
I received your note about Marty's passing. Since yesterday I have been
thinking about all of you and the old neighborhood. I can still see Marty at our back door in the early summer mornings looking for "Stevy" to play trucks. I still have pictures of the neighborhood kids. On behalf of all of us, Linda, Terry and Steve, Don and Myself, please accept our deepest symphony. He fought the good fight and now he can rest.

Dear Entire Woywod Family,
I can not express in words how sorry I am. Marty would always watch over me like a big brother would even though we were the same age. He was always a wonderful friend and would yell at me if he thought I was ever making a poor choice. I am sorry I was not there but found out last Sunday. He will be greatly missed and there is another angel in Heaven. I'll miss you Moose!

The Woywoods: I am saddened to hear of Marty's passing, a better man you will not find. Throughout the years we didn't know each other that well but each time I would see him his smile was always huge and inviting. He would talk to you and you could see in his eyes that he genuinely cared. The last time I saw him was at the benefit a few years ago. By nights end he was so tired he couldn't say anything he just nodded when I saw him, but the smile was there and the light in his eyes was bright just like I remembered. I'll cry for him tonight but I will always smile when I think of that, rest in peace Marty. Matt

Woywood's:

I think it was 33 or more years ago when Marty Woywood was my 1st team favorite coaching baseball. He certainly, unlike a few of his brothers, was not the most artistic or capable, but what he lacked in talent he made up for in the same character he manifested throughout his short life. The same character I witnessed in Marty's brothers, and completely understood its origins when I came to know their parents.
I will always remember Marty as representative of the truly noble people you meet in life.

Condolences, John Caraher

I was sorry to hear about Marty's passing. I graduated with Marty from OPRF and although we hadn't stayed in contact .... I've prayed for him and his battle with ALS many times during the past few years. He was a great advocate and supporter for the ALS Foundation which is to be commended. He always had a warm smile and so nice. What a loss.
My condolences to his family. I know you'll cherish the wonderful memories.

When we speak of those who are instruments in the hand of God, we are reminded that not all angels are from the other side of the veil. Some of them we walk with and talk with - everyday. In this case, this angel was a friend to many, a father, a son and devoted husband. Heaven never seems closer than when we see the love of God manifested in such strength, kindness and devotion in one man. So kind and so loving to others - thru his own pain - that angelic is the only word that comes to mind when I think of Marty. We lost this angel in the physical sense, but heaven has a new angel now and there is no doubt that he is smiling and watching over all of us.

Rest in peace big guy! You are loved by many and will be greatly missed! My sincere condolences to the family.
