I echo my sister Katherine's sentiments above about Cousin Marian. I remember being comforted by her when I was a small boy and my even smaller sister fell off the daybed in our den, cracking her head open. While my Mom took her to the hospital, I ran next door to Cousin Marian who dried my tears and reassured me that things would be all right. Marian was a kind and generous person, and I send my best wishes to Don and Helen and their families.

I am very sorry for your loss. Marian was a kind and gracious lady, who I greatly enjoyed working with while she volunteered at the Clarendon Hills Library. What I will remember most about her is her beautiful smile, and her deep love of family--especially her grandchildren.

Cousin Marian is in many of my earliest, happiest memories. Living next door, I saw her often. She was always working in the garden or around the house, which she kept immaculate and to me very stylish. I remember her sunbathing in the back yard - the height of glamor. She never seemed to be in a hurry and was always hospitable and kind. I know she had a busy life, but I remember her best as a cousin, neighbor, and extra mom. A year ago my mom and I ran into her at the doctor's office and she seemed like she had barely changed. She was a lovely person, one of a kind. Unfortunately, we won't be able to attend the service tomorrow, but we send our deepest sympathy to all you cousins. Thanks, so much to Don for calling and letting my parents know. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
