Louise Guzzardi Obituary

LOUISE MERLI GUZZARDI Louise Merli Guzzardi, devoted and cherished wife of the late Carm (Art) Guzzardi,, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2013 at the age of 89. Louise was born and raised on a Connecticut farm, and always had fond memories of her youth.She and Carm moved to Wheaton in 1955, where they raised their family and enjoyed the bounty of many friends who shared their love of bridge and golf. In their later years, they spent winters in their home on Siesta Key, Florida. Louise was an optimist who always had a smile for anyone who came to visit! Louise is survived by 4 children: Debbie (Joe Scilluffo) Guzzardi, Dr. Thomas (Holly) Guzzardi, Nancy (Randy) Demik and Amy(Eric) Lees; 9 grandchildren, James (Cara) Sherrod, Shannon (Matt) Hathcock, Anne (Ian Lutz) Guzzardi, Maura (Jimmie Williams) Callahan, Julie Guzzardi, Ian Callahan and Aidan, Daisy & William Lees; 5 great-grandchildren, Adia & Amare Williams, Connor & Grace Hathcock and Emilee Sherrod. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Cecilia, Josephine and Dorothy, 3 sisters-in-law, Yolanda, Eleanor and Angie, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to The Neighbors Next Door, especially Erica, for the loving care Louise received in her final weeks. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Holy Angels Church (Hardin & Lancaster, Aurora, IL) with a visitation and luncheon from 11:00-1:00pm at Connor Hall at Holy Angels. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Louise 's memory. Private burial will be held at a later date.
