Louis Stecker Obituary

Louis G. Stecker
Louis G. Lou Stecker, 90, widower of Ann (Kase) Stecker and Ann (Goll) Stecker, and companion of Elizabeth Betty (Moser) Schantzenbach, of Pennsburg, died January 7, 2007. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Helen (Gilmeyer) and Louis G. Stecker Sr. He was a machinist and the quality assurance representative for General Electric Co., Philadelphia and Valley Forge, for 15 years. Prior to that, he was a machinist at the U.S. Mint, Frankford Arsenal and Philadelphia Navy Yard, all of Philadelphia. He did his machinist apprenticeship at his fathers machine shop and retired in 1981. He was a member of New Goshenhoppen U.C.C., Upper Perkiomen Senior Center, Young at Heart at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Obelisk, Golden Agers, Pennsburg, Senior Adult Activity Center, Souderton, and Harleysville Senior Center. Survivors: Companion; nephew, John Zimmerman of Malvern; niece, Diane (Zimmerman) Gourley of Philadelphia. He was predeceased by a sister, Helena Stecker. Services: Memorial, 11 a.m. today, New Goshenhoppen U.C.C., 1070 Church Rd., East Greenville. Call 10-11 a.m. today at the church. Arrangements, Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, in his memory to the American Red Cross, Penn Jersey Region, 700 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia, PA 19123.
