Lorene Novosad Obituary

Lorene Novosad, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on November 2, 2010 at the age of 74. Visitation will be from 4:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M., with a Tribute at 6:30 P. M. and a Rosary at 7:00 P. M., on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 8, 2010 at St. Michael's Church in Needville with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Sean Novosad, Joshua Novosad, Tucker Novosad, Tristan Novosad, Dylan Heath, Garrett Heath, Nick Hilgenberg; and son-in-law Jeff Heath. Lorene was born in Needville, Texas on June 30, 1936 to John and Fannie Hurta. Lorene graduated from Needville High School in 1955. Lorene married Johnny Novosad on August 20, 1955. They lived on numerous air force bases before moving to Chicago in 1966. After 20 memorable years, they returned to Needville to be with family. Lorene served as a patient volunteer at Oak Bend Hospital in Richmond for many years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, volunteered to cook for senior citizens, was a volunteer reader for Needville schools and taught CCE at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Lorene was also a member of the American Legion Post #350 Auxillary. She is survived by son, Michael and wife, LaVone, and their children, Heather, Sean and Joshua of Needville; son, Timothy and wife, Kathleen, and their children, Shelby, Kelsey and Veronica of Sugar Land; son, Kennan and wife, Michelle, and their children, Taylour, Spenser, Hunter, Nicolas and Laura of Buffalo Grove, IL; daughter, Patrice Novosad-Heath and husband, Jeff, and their children, Cassidy, Dylan, Garret and Mackenna of Flower Mound; and son, Anthony and wife, Kristi, and their children, Tucker and Tristan of Needville; brother, Marvin Hurta of Needville; sister, Viola Foss of Richmond; sister, Dorothy Mikel of Guy; sister, Gloria Pavlas of Needville; brother, Johnnie Hurta of Needville; and brother, Danny Hurta of Needville. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 47 years, Johnny; infant son, Mark; and brother, Al, of Needville. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Phillippians 4:13. Donations may be made, in her memory, to St. Michaels Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 95, Needville, Texas, 77461.
