Larry G. McDaniel, age 75 of Yorkville, IL passed unexpectedly on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on June 13, 1946 in Cardwell, MO the son of Stanley and Alma (Wilborn) McDaniel.
Larry was united in marriage on May 7, 1977 to Donna Nicastro and they spent the next 45 years happily together. Mr. McDaniel was a proud Veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. He was employed, for 42 years, with Tricon in Downers Grove, IL, retiring as the Plant Manager. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Larry is survived by his wife, Donna McDaniel of Yorkville, IL; his children, Derrek (Beth) Detjens of VA and Katherine Rech of Yorkville, IL; his grandchildren, Megan Hobbs, Caleb Welch, Devin Detjens and Davia Detjens; his great-grandchildren, Anthony Hobbs and Evelyn Schuning; his brothers, Jimmy Miller of Yorkville, IL and Jerry (Jo) Miller of FL; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Alma McDaniel.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
