Kenneth Babe Obituary
Kenneth F. Babe, 82, of Riverside passed peacefully at home.
Owner of Fireman Electric in Chicago and U.S. Army Veteran. "Don't fly it, if you don't respect it," says Kenneth Babe, aka The Flag Man. American flags with frayed edges or in tatters enrages Babe. The American flag is not a decoration, but a sign of our freedom. If you can't display our flag with respect, take it down." The Flag Man is on mission. When he spots a flag in disrepair, he is not to be detoured. "I very politely ask the person if they would mind removing it. I explain that it is a sign of disrespect to our great nation to display it in poor condition. No one has ever taken offense, at my request stated the Flag Man. The Flag Man does not demand replacement of the flag and finally stresses he does not sell flags. He does point out that a flag can be bought for less than $20.00. Kenneth Babe a veteran of the United States Army says he has always considered himself a staunch patriot. I get a tremendous feeling of accomplishment when I see a tattered flag taken down and replaced by a new one. Fly our flag with pride," concluded The Flag Man. Ken a proud American passed away peacefully with a smile on his face and a flag at his side. Support our Veterans and God Bless America.
Ken is survived by his wife, Deanne; a loving family and many friends.

I am so sorry to see this. My hearts goes out to the family. Ken was a wonderful man and a great mentor to my son Cal. He gave advice to cal that I couldn't do. With this my heart goes out to the rest of the family. Great man and uncle. Ken Cal will always treasure the memories and talks and you visiting him in college. We love you Ken
