Kate was a dear, dear friend, an inspiration and a mentor to me and so many others at Fenton High School. Her warmth, brilliance and courage made her a role model for students and colleagues alike. I will always remember her vividly and hold her in my heart. To her family, I send my sympathy but also celebrate the joy of having had her in our lives. We were all blessed to have known her.
