Joan L. Petschke
Joan L. Petschke
Born: March 26, 1943
Joan L. Petschke née Davis; wife of James P. Petschke; mother of Gregory (Cheryl), Jeffrey (Susan), and Philip Petschke; grandmother to seven: great-grandmother to one.
Joan was born March 26, 1943 in Chicago where she resided the first few years of her life until relocating to Downers Grove. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School and later, Downers Grove North High School. It was there that she met her future husband and lifelong best friend, James. They married in 1964 and bought a house in town to raise their family.
Joan loved the company of friends and family. She enjoyed getting together to play games and possessed a love of reading. Joan was always working her way through a stack of books borrowed from the local library. A devout Catholic, she lived her life with the knowledge that God was with her at all times.
She made every life that she touched better. She loved without question and gave without hesitation. As a couple, Joan and James provided a template for how a marriage should be. The world is a poorer place without her in it.
