I taught with Jean at Greenbriar School in Northbrook, Il,and remember her as a wonderful teacher and a good friend. We taught LD students and shared many ideas, laughs, and experiences as well as lunches. She taught me as well as her students.
I've often thought of Jean over the years of her gracious and giving ways. She was quite a lady.

Dear Rev. Dodds and Family,

In 1968, during the time I was the school counselor in Northbrook District 28, Meadowbrook School, and my soon-to-be wife, Nancy Schumacher, was the speech pathologist at the same school, Jean was a wonderful special education teacher at Meadowbrook School.

During the next few years I worked with Jean in assisting the many children who were diagnosed with what was then the emerging field of Learning Disabilities (LD). At different staff parties I also had the opportunity to meet you, Reverend Dodds, as well.

I remember Jean as a teacher who was very dedicated to her students. She was quite knowledgeable and helpful to classroom teachers, who were just beginning to understand how to teach children with LD.

Jean was a terrific lady! Please accept our sincere condolences.

Regards,
Jim Kucienski
Retired (2002) District 28 Superintendent
