James Sweeney Obituary

James J. Sweeney, age 77 of Downers Grove, formerly of Florida and Palos Heights, passed away peacefully with his family June 25th, 2008. Loving father of Elaine (Robert) Pagels, the late James (Elizabeth), Sharon (Charles Nilles), Jerome (Jean), and Laura (Gary) Michicich. Adored grandfather of fourteen. Son of Dr. Leo P.A. and Elaine (nee Dunphy) Sweeney. Brother of Leo (Jana) and Lois. Dear uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. Graduate of Campion Jesuit High School, Class of 1949, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and Xavier University, Class of 1953, Cincinnati, Ohio. Visitation Friday, June 27th from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at John Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 7020 West 127th Street, Palos Heights. Funeral is Saturday, June 28th 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alexander Church, 7025 West 126th Street, Palos Heights. Interment Private.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.Brandon liked your Dad so very much! He would kiss Brandon on the top of his head when he saw him. Brandon cried when I told him about your Dad's passing. We will miss seeing Jim and talking to him!!!!

Our hearts go out to you at this time and in the days ahead.Jim was a wonderful guy. We had some great conversations about Europe. It was always good to talk to him, his love for family and people was apparent. He had a big heart.He will be missed around Oak Tree Towers!!!
