James Kohler Obituary

James Herbert Kohler James Herbert Kohler passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4th, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of the late Gayle Miller, Kohler. Loving father of Constance Rowe (Gary), and the late Richard A. Kohler. Fond Grandfather of Amy, Sarah, and Karl Passow, and Ricky (Katie), April, and Kristen Kohler. Dear Great Grandfather of Ashlyn, Austin, Jacob, Kaiden & Logan. Dear Uncle to Larry Kohler, Christine (Steve) Deaton, Colleen (Jerry) Amore, Kathy (Rex) McElhaney, Keith (Patty) Lucas, and Bill Lucas and the late Maureen Polack. He is survived by his loving twin sister, Helen Dorsett. James, "Jimmy" was born and raised in Lombard, Illinois. Jimmy attended Elmhurst College. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Jimmy and his late brother Bill took over the family used furniture and antique business upon the passing of their father RC Kohler. Kohler 's Trading Post, located in Lombard, Illinois for 67 years. Jimmy was on the DuPage County Board. He enjoyed sailing on the family boat, the TP, on Lake Michigan and participated in a few Mackinac Boat races. Jimmy also taught safe boating classes for the Chicago Power Squadron, where he was a member. There will be a private memorial service luncheon in Elmhurst, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Honor of James H. Kohler to Hines Voluntary Services, 500 S. 5th Ave, Bldg. #9, Hines, IL 60141. Please put in the memo, James H. Kohler.
