James Anthony Jolicoeur
Loving husband of Toni; loving father of Gary and Mark; proud grandfather of Claire, Alec, Grace, and Lara; dear brotherof the late Lucille, Albert, Mabel, Edward, and Eula; and loving uncle of so many. He, along with his future wife, Toni, grew up in Detroit into large and loving families. Jim was a focused and quiet individual, known for his desire to help others. He regularly attended Divine Providence Parish and participated in the life of the parish. Early in his life, he developed an interest in fixing whatever needed to be fixed, which became a lifelong interest - he could fix most anything. He studied electrical engineering at Detroit University, however his studies were interrupted whenwar was declared. At twenty one, during WWII, Jim enlisted in the army. The skills he learned attending engineering college were recognized along with his aptitude for problem solving. The Army selected him to serve in the newly formed Office of Strategic Services. He was stationed in Northern Africa, and Italy, receiving a Victory Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with2 Bronze battle stars, and three overseas service bars. After moving with his wife and two children to Westchester, Illinois in 1961, he continued his career as a sales/field representative of an electrical component company which supplied specificsafety equipment to large power companies and power generation firms. He enjoyed nature and camping and a good cigar. One of his favorite local places to walk with his wife was the Old Grae Mill and local forest preserves. Servicesare private.
