OH why is heaven built so far,
Oh why is earth set so remote?
I cannot reach the nearest star
That hangs afloat.
I would not care to reach the moon,
One round monotonous of change;
Yet even she repeats her tune
Beyond my range.
I never watch the scatter'd fire
Of stars, or sun's far-trailing train,
But all my heart is one desire,
And all in vain:
For I am bound with fleshly bands,
Joy, beauty, lie beyond my scope;
I strain my heart, I stretch my hands,
And catch at hope.

How Was I To Know
How was I to know it would be the last time
to say "I love you, have a good day?"

I remember you standing at the door,
watching as I drove away.
How was I to know it would be the last time
you would watch me drive away?
I took for granted each day we had together.
I wish I had only known, as I drove away,
to live and love each moment,
like a brand new day.

How was I to know

As you watched me drive away,
the Lord was taking you away?
If I could only go back in time,
when you were still mine,
I would live each day as if it were the last.

How was I to know

I would have to start my life over with out you?
Did God know how hard it would be for me
when he took you away?

The only thing I do know
You're safe in Gods hands now,
to shield and protect you.

Sonny,
You will truely be missed. I will miss all the days we used to spend together at the Convience Store. The days we spent racing down Dillard Rd. And even all the days that you would come to the store and ask me to cook you some fresh chicken and to get you your sundrop. Sonny, You were like a dad to me and I will always miss you but I will never forget you. I will always cherish all the days that me, you, and Kristal would spend together. I wish we all still had more days together but one things for sure, you are in a better place now. And I'm truely sorry that I didn't make it to the hospital to see you.. I love you Sonny!!! You may be gone but you will never be forgotten.. I'm gonna miss hearing you call me Sherry Lee.. R.I.P. my dear friend!!! And always know I will see you again..
