James L. Brendemuhl, age 65, at rest September 27, 2015. Beloved husband of Ruth Anne Brendemuhl, nee; Lusthoff, for 38 years. Loving father of James William Brendemuhl and Laura Ruth Brendemuhl. Dear brother of William J. (Hillary) Brendemuhl, Jr.
Jim was a practicing attorney for 40 years with his wife Ruth Anne Brendemuhl in the law firm of Boeger, Heerwagen & Brendemuhl, P.C., Westchester, Illinois. Jim served on many charitable boards and was legal counsel to the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, Northern IL District.
Visitation on Wednesday, September 30, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Adolf Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd. 7000 S. Madison Street, Willowbrook, IL. Family and friends to meet at Immanuel Lutheran Church , 2317 S. Wolf Road, (corner of Wolf Rd. and 22nd Street), in Hillside on Thursday, October 1st for 11:00 Service. There will be a brief visitation prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Walther Christian Academy, 900 Chicago Avenue, Melrose Park, IL 60160, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6717 19th Street, Berwyn, IL 60402, Faith Lutheran Church, 1124 Westchester Blvd., Westchester, IL 60154, or the American Bladder Cancer Society, 399 Main Street Dalton, MA 01226 would be appreciated.
Services will conclude at the church. Cremation private.

I just found Mr. Brendemuhl's obituary when I did a google search to find the office phone number to handle a small matter of no large import. I was shocked to learn that not only has he passed, but he left us some time ago now. He was my attorney, but a kinder soul I have never met and he eased me through a very difficult time in my life. The world is just a little darker for not having him in it. I was lucky to have made his acquaintance and I am very sorry to learn he is gone. I can only imagine the devastation for those who knew him better. My thoughts and prayers are for you.

I just read of his passing into Heaven. Jim was my attorney, but more important a solid rock for me during a turbulent time in my life. His upstanding, faithful counsel was a blessing to many. My brain is having a hard time grasping that this kind gentleman is no longer on this earth.
My prayers go out to Ruth and the children. He loved you with his whole heart and you were the lights of his life.
Heaven truly has another angel.

Just learned of Jim's passing. I shared housing with Jim and Mike Mulder at Valpo while we were in law school. I fondly remember Jim when we worked together as 711s at the Porter County prosecutor's office. It appeared he had a very good life, and it was well deserved. My memories of those days were that it was great to be a classmate of Jims. He is fondly remembered as one of the few really good guys. May God bless you with great memories.
