Gregory Krcmar Obituary
Gregory G. Krcmar, celebrating sixty-nine years of life, laid to rest his beautiful blue eyes with his family by his side on February 13, 2016.
While here on earth for a much shorter time than we all wished, Greg developed wonderful relationships as an obedient Son, a trusting Brother, a valiant Serviceman, a dependable Friend, a loving Husband, a devoted Father, and a benevolent Papa. In each role, Greg served as an anchor to his family and friends, providing unconditional love, friendship, and advice. Greg lived a selfless life, serving his country in the Navy on the USS Forrestal; his community as the President of School District 103 and the Stickney-Forest View Library, and as a Trustee on the Board of Morton College. Greg found joy in making others laugh through his stories, witticisms, and his sense of humor. Coinciding with his devotion to life, he compelled others to share in his happiness.
While he leaves many of us saddened as he continues his journey with God, we all can recall the joyful times we have shared, where he has instilled the qualities of integrity, admiration, and love in each one of us. It is with these qualities that we as a family and friends will forge ahead, once again strengthening the relationships he has blessed us with. Long will live the beauty of his smile and the memories that came with it. Simply put, Greg lived enthusiastically, and the relationships and the stories of this life will be shared for decades to come.
Greg is survived by his devoted wife, Justine Krcmar; and his children, Tamara (Matthew) Bakker, Amber and Joseph, along with Hank and Diane Lantvit.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at 9:30 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, located at 111 Cass Ave., Westmont, Illinois.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to his good friend Matthew Boyle at Adolf Funeral Home & Cremation Services [Phone No.: (630) 325-2300].
Greg had requested that should his family and friends desire, remembrances may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Pets for Vets.

I did not know your husband, and I just recently met you through the Darien Garden Club; however, I often saw you, Justine, walking your dogs, and I once saw your husband making sounds on the sidewalk for your lost dog to come home. I was very touched by the obituary's words. How beautifully written it was! Because of it, I do wish that I would have stopped on the sidewalk to talk to your husband. He must have been a wonderful man, and it is certainly my loss. But I do look forward to getting to know you better through the garden club. Please accept our sympathy for your loss, and may you be surrounded by love as you journey on in life.

I knew Greg when I was growing up in Stickney as a kid. We all lived aroung 40th and Wesley Ave and had alot of good memories. Sorry to see him leave so soon. Best wishes
