Goldie Heidenberger Obituary

Goldie W. "Nonie" Heidenberger, of Flushing, age 88, died Friday, June 24, 2005 at home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2005 at United in Christ Lutheran Church, Pastor Gilbert Mabry officiating. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Rossefl Funeral Home and lO a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice, United in Christ Lutheran Church or Flushing Lions Club.

Nonie was born in Jennings, Mich. on Dec. 25, 1916, the daughter of Yorgan and Goldie (Fairchild) Hanson. She married Donald George Heidenberger, Aug. 14, 1954 at St. John Episcopal Church, Midland. Nonie was a member of United in Christ Lutheran Church, where she was very active in many capacities. She was a member of Saginaw General Nurses Association, Flushing Historical Society, Flushing Area Senior Citizens Center and Flushing Lions Guild. Nonie was:a private duty registered nurse before working for Dow Chemical, where she eventually became superintendent of the nursing staff in the medical department. She loved crafts, especially knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are: husband, Donald G. Heidenberger of Flushing; 2 children, Evelyn and husband Bruce Askwig of Goodrich, Mary Lou and husband Gary Hopkins of Avilla, IN; 6 grandchildren, Adena and husband Ted Tullar of Mt. Morris, Jonathan Askwig of Ft. Polk, La., Michael Askwig of Ft. Jackson, S.C., Kirsten, Annika and Sean Hopkins, all of AviIIa, Ind.; 4 great-grandchildren, Richelle, Trenton, Troy and Trista Tullar, all of Mt. Morris; many nieces, nephews and friends.
