Monda. I am truly sorry for your loss. As you remember, George and I were very close, spending those 5 great years in the Corps. His original :High tide on the Kickapoo mud flats" was a classic!

Dear Monda,Linda and I were so sad to lear of George's passing. We both have very fond memories of our time together in Weisbaden. I never met a person that I respected more than George and will always remember him with a smile. He was one of those people that you might not see in thirty years but when you talked on the phone it was like yesterday afternoon. Time seemed to stand still We had some once in a lifetime experiences in Germany which I will never forget. Our thoughts are with all of you.

My short years with George at the Air Force Band in DC were years I will always hold close to my heart. He hired me for Operations and I will always be grateful for his mentoring and wonderful management style. I learned a lot from George and remember fondly of those times he invited me to his home and Monda's hospitality and cheerful encouragement. Dwight Graupman

I have lost one of my dearest and most beloved friends. George was like a second dad to me back in my Air Force days, thank you Monda for welcoming me into the family as you did. George was a great bandleader and led the Diplomats combo through a period of great change. He was simply one of the good guys, a loving and faithful husband and a devoted father to his four children, of whom he was very, very proud. And a true Catholic gentleman. I will always hear his voice--"Let's go, get on the bus"-- and will forever treasure the memories of the time we spent together. I LOVE YOU, GEORGE, rest in peace, and "Thank you for being a friend".
