Genevieve Hatch Genevieve Hatch, age 88, a lifetime resident of Lisle, IL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 28, 2014 at Westbury Care Center in Lisle, IL. She was born December 1, 1925. Genevieve is survived by her loving children, Dennis Hatch of Lisle, IL, Donald (Del) Hatch of Carol Stream, IL, Margy Grow of Woodridge, IL and Judy (Gary) Oswald of Geneva, IL; her cherished grandchildren, Erica (Tim) Doody, Jennifer (Jacob) Brown, Nicole (R.J.) Paulik, Stephanie (fiance Tony Bosko) Grow, Harry, Douglas and Lauren Grow; Kelsey Oswald; her adored great-grandchildren, Sophia, Anthony, Nicholas and Alexander; her siblings, George (the late Alice) Schumacher, Rita (the late Bill) Sanders, Joe (the late Mary Gin) Schumacher, Loretta (the late Leonard) Saul; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many great friends. Preceded in death by her devoted husband, Alvin Hatch in 2012; her parents, Hubert and Mary Schumacher; her siblings, Marie Schumacher, Richard (Mary) Schumacher and Robert and Hubert Schumacher. Before becoming a dedicated stay at home mother and babysitter to her grandchildren, Genevieve worked downtown Chicago in various offices as a secretary. She loved to toil in her gardens and pick fruit from the many trees around the family home. She was also an excellent baker and spoiled her family with countless delicious baked goods, especially her famous apple pie. Throughout her life, Genevieve enjoyed bowling and traveling. She was a devoted lifetime member of St Joan of Arc Catholic Church and sang in the funeral choir for many years. She will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be Sunday, February 2, 2014, from 2:00 until 7:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Naperville. Closing Prayers will begin on Monday, February 3, at 9:15 AM from the funeral home and proceed to a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Kingston and Front Sts., Lisle.
