Gene Chevalier Obituary
Gene Charles Chevalier died peacefully on January 8, 2018 in Geneva, Illinois at the age of 77.
Gene is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "BJ" (nee Wilhelms); son, Edward and wife, Amy; son, John and wife, Lori; daughter, Carrie Summy and husband, Joel; ten grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael, Savana, Nicholas, William, Matthew, Vivian, Otto, George, Juliet; and sister, Gail Nason and partner, Ian Catt.
Gene was a patriot, serving his country as a naval officer in Da Nang, Vietnam, and decorated for his superior performance and devotion to duty in 1967. He was an accomplished civil engineer and salesman. Gene and BJ lived on many shores, including New Jersey, Hawaii, Australia, California, and Lake Michigan, instilling a love of travel and nature in their children.
A perfect day for Gene would be dipping his toe in the ocean, watching his beloved Cubs raise the W, tinkering in his woodshop, and hosting a barbeque with his beloved wife of 53 years, his three children, his ten energetic grandchildren, and multiple family dogs.
A memorial service is planned for February 3rd, 2018 with time and location to be determined. Family and friends will be notified.
