I just heard about Elmer's death although it happened about 19 months ago. I will share it with retirees from Lyons Township High School where Elmer taught. Although I was a French teacher at LT I got to know Elmer and was very fond of him. We would often eat lunch together in the science office. He was kind and caring and had a great sense of humor which I appreciated. He would make people feel important in conversing with them. Above all he loved his family. Although I never observed him teach, I can only imagine what a great teacher he was! I was so saddened to hear that he died and we teachers were not aware of his passing so that we could attend his memorial.
