Eileen Nona Obituary

Eileen E. Nona nee Anderson, age 94, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 10, 2009 at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Romuald "Babe"; loving mother of Robert (Marion), Richard (Deborah) and Susan (Gerald) Boe. Devoted grandmother of Amy (Steve) Nelson, Alison (Steve) Wells, Steven Hicks, Jennifer (Robert) Arend, Jason (Lori) Boe, Robert Nona Jr., Kathleen (Peter) Frantik and Abby (Neil) Finnell; great grandmother of 12. Dearest sister of Norma (J.D.) Beavers. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Eileen was a resident of Lemont for over sixty years. She was a life-long member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Lemont, where she donated countless hours of her time and talent. Every morning for over 30 years, she was behind the counter of the Strand Drugstore at 5:30 A.M. As a young mother, she was instrumental in he start-up of the Cub Scouts and Little league in Lemont. These things she did in between her baking sessions, during which she supplied many Lemont residents with candy, coffee cakes and other sweets. Even with her busy schedule, Eileen always found the time and energy to devote to her #1 priority, her family. She will be missed by all. Funeral Services were held Wednesday January 14 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Interment followed at Fairmount Willow Hills Cemetery in Willow Springs. Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Harvest Campaign Fund. Arrangements entrusted to Gerharz Funeral Home.

Dear Bob, Rich, Susan, Norma, and Families,

Our deepest sympathy to everyone. 'Mrs. Nona' was the ultimate "Mom" and all of us who grew up in her neighborhood benefited so much from her care. From baseball games in the yard, her rides to school, play in their basement, and those unending yummy sweets she provided, our childhood memories are wonderful and cherished, most of all because of 'Mrs. Nona'.

Love & Hugs to everyone,
Margot & Phil
