Edwin J. Ellefsen, age 56.
Beloved husband of Donna; loving father of Emily (Lowell, Jr.) Jett, Edwin III, and Erika; cherished grandfather of Lowell III; dear brother of Elaine (Robert) Favaro, and Eric (Ariene) Ellefsen; dear brother-in-law of Edward (Jeanine) Konkolewski, Camille (Jerry) Johnson, and Jennifer (Jeffery) Jendryk; adoring son-in-law of Edward and Sylviann Konkolewski; loyal son of the late Donald and Evelyn Ellefsen; fond uncle of many.
Visitation was Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 204 S. Grant St., Hinsdale. Interment Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Oak Brook.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edwin's honor to Zion Lutheran Church, Hinsdale or Jefferson Foundation / Uveal Melanoma Research Fund.

Our deepest condolences to the Ellefsen family. We just learned of his passing. Edwin and I had some great times including a trip to Italy that was amazing. Let's just say that careening at 70 mph thru the back streets of Rome with a crazy taxi driver can be a lot of fun. He will be missed.

My deepest condolences to the Ellefsen family. I frequently worked with Mr. Ellefsen at his eye doctor visits since his first appointment at our office. He was a lovely man. You could tell by his demeanor that he was a genuine and kind soul.

Condolences to the family and employees of Opticote from a business customer of Ed's. He and the business he built were nothing but class throughout, which came form his leadership and high character. We are saddened to have heard the news. We hope all who knew him can feel some solace in knowing the life he led was a good one. That we all can strive to be the kind of soul that he embodied is perhaps what he has left us.
