Edward Davis Obituary

Edward T. Davis
Born: June 22, 1956
Died: April 12, 2021
Edward T. Davis, of Lockport, IL and a native of Lemont, IL passed away April 12, 2021 at the age of 64, with his family at his side. Eddie was born on June 22, 1956. He was known for being a gentle soul, loved by many. He was one of a kind, one of the kindest and had a great sense of humor.
Eddie attended Lemont Township High School and was the President of his Senior Class, President of the National Honor Society and an officer in the High School Marching Band, where he played the trumpet. During his senior year, he was a 3-sport varsity athlete. Eddie's love for sports began at a young age. Whether it was playing football, basketball, baseball, golf, or bowling, he gave it his all. His home teams were Braves, Hornets, St. Cyril's Comets and LHS. In his later years he continued his passion and gave back to the community as coach at St. Cyril and Methodius and again with the birth of his son Ryan. He led teams through teaching and sharing his passion for sports whenever he could. While Ed was an avid lifelong Green Bay fan, we all tried not to hold that against him. Through the years, he took a lot of family harassing but always stayed true to his Green and Gold colors. Go Pack Go!
During Eddie's lifetime, he had several jobs. One of his first was working part-time for Leo, his brother-in-law, at Leo & Son's Carpet & Furniture Cleaning, a tradition that many family members have followed suit. Eddie also worked for the US Post Office as a mail carrier, at Reeds Automotive. More recently, Eddie worked with his son, Ryan, at Wehrli Imperial Installation in Downers Grove, IL.
One of Eddie's most precious recent claims to fame was being promoted to grandfather. As a very proud grandfather, Poppy will always be the apple of his eye.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Francine Davis; his siblings, Bonnie O'Rozco (Leo) Leonard and Carl Davis; and his great nephew, Brendan O'Rozco.
Eddie is survived by his sons, David Dewar of Oswego, IL, Ryan (Tera) Davis of Plainfield, IL and his beloved granddaughter, Poppy Davis; his sisters-in-law, Carmen and Dorothy Davis. He was a beloved uncle to Randy (Cindy) O'Rozco, David (Bev) O'Rozco, Joanne (Jim) Calme, Sabrina (Alexander) Denner, Lena (Frank) Motola ,Leonard (Kirsten) Davis, Lisa (Steve) Parker, Lori (Eric) Swanson, and numerous great nieces and great nephews. He was a dear friend to many.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont, IL. Prayer service will begin Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home, then going in procession to St. Cyril & Methodius Church for Mass at 1 p.m. Interment Private.

Eddie and I shared the love of the green Bay packers. I took him to a bear-packer game on Chicago once and he was as happy as I ever saw him. I met him in 1991 when I joined a bowling league, he and I became instant friends, RIP, say hi to Vince lombardi for me

My sincere condolences to Eddie's family and friends. Eddie and I were in band together in High School and we sat only a few chairs apart. Always had lots of fun. I will miss your comments and laughs on Facebook. Rest in peace, my friend. Though distance separates us, my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

The loss of a friend is never easy. I have so many fond memories of us as teenagers playing cards, waiting in the back field challenging each other on who will catch the football on a punt return, and generally just having fun! As adults, it was always nice to catch up and reminisce.
My heartfelt condolences to your family during this time of sorrow. You're in my thoughts and prayers as you journey onto heaven! Godspeed, my friend!

I worked with Eddie for 36 years. He was one of the first friends I made at the post office. Eddie always had a smile, quick with a joke, and was always there to help.

Eddie you were a lot of fun to hang with back in High School. You shock the heck out of me the day you knocked on my door in Bolingbrook and you said “Di” I’m your mailman. What a shocking day that was. It was great to see you then. My friend RIP.
