DONALD B. ZEMAN

Died: Jan. 2, 2015; in Scottsdale, AZ

Donald Brian Zeman passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, at the age of 69, in his Scottsdale home with his family by his side.

Donald was born January 10, 1945, in Elmhurst, to George and Dolores Zeman. Donald grew up in LaGrange, with his sister, Rene, and attended Lyons Township High School.

Donald's competitive spirit was evident early on as a rare member of a Santa Fe Speedway demolition race team, an experience that he shared with his life-long and surviving best friend of 61 years, Terry Karlson.

Donald attended and graduated from Memphis State University in 1972, before pursuing his sales carrier with 3M Company.

Donald married Sharon Olson, also from LaGrange, in 1970. Donald and Sharon Zeman settled down in Downers Grove, and had four children.

Since moving to Arizona in 1993, Donald spent much of his time enjoying the game of golf.

Donald remarried in 2013, and leaves behind his loving wife, Barbra Medlin. Donald and Barbra spent much of their time together traveling the country in their motor coach and visiting with family and friends in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Donald is survived by his four children, Brandon (Lynda), Christopher, Loren (Scott), and Mark; his four grandchildren, Bryan, Bradley, Owen and Peyton; his sister, Rene; Donald's wife, Barbra; and countless friends all of whom he loved dearly.

No one who has been part of Donald's life will ever forget his love for his family and friends, the passion for the game of golf, his kindness and generosity and the amazing ability to always having a positive "today is going to be a better day" attitude.
