Colleen Sutherland Obituary
Colleen Cecile Sutherland, nee McNamee, 52, of Elmhurst. Beloved wife of Scott; loving mother of Joseph, Joshua and Jessica; dear daughter of the late Rita (Roger surviving) Renstrom and C. Richie McNamee; loving sister of Heather (Fred) Morissette, Tad Renstrom, Christina (John) DeYoung and the late Richie McNamee; aunt of Megan, Sarah Nathan, and Cheryl Nicole. She was amazing!
Colleen was active at Epiphany Lutheran Church especially with the Clothing and Toy Resale and taught for many years at Treetown Cooperative Nursery School. She touched countless lives as a teacher, mentor and friend and was a proud queen of the E.A.O.
Visitation at Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 and at Epiphany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 314 W. Vallette St., Elmhurst from 10:00 a.m. until time of Service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016. Interment Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials will be appreciated for the Colleen Sutherland Memorial Trust, c/o 330 W. Butterfield Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126, to instill the love of learning in children.

To Scott and Family, I was just told about Colleen's passing and I am so shocked and saddened by it. You might remember that I taught with Colleen in The kindergarten readiness program in Lombard for about 10 years. She was such a kind and gentle person and teacher and very effective with the young children. I was just thinking about her the other day and how nice it would be to get the old gang together again. I am so sorry for you and your children . You lost a wonderful wife and mother. Please accept my condolences.

RIP Colleen. I have fond memories of Colleen as my aide in Kindergarten. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family, Scott! I know all those good memories will bring you peace.
