Carmen Barcia, age 88, of Downers Grove, Illinois; beloved wife of the late Manuel "Manny" Barcia Alonso; loving mother of Joseph (Joy) Barcia, Lydia (Mark) Barcia Janick, and Dorothy (Kevin) Barcia-Greaney; beloved Lela of Andrea, Rachel, Alex, Julia, Matea, Natalia, Marco, David (Lauren) and great-grandson Joey and great-granddaughter Emilia; dear sister of Maria Dolores (Bernardo) Campa, Merche (the late Roberto) Gonzalez and the late Eduardo (Theresa) Gonzalez; loved aunt and friend to many.
Carmen and Manny immigrated from their hometown Cedeira, Spain in 1969 and made Downers Grove, Illinois their second home. Carmen was happiest when she was surrounded by family, friends and her loving grandchildren.
Memorial Visitation, Saturday, February 24th, 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 4801 Main Street, Downers Grove, IL 60515. Immediately following Mass, family and friends will meet for Inurnment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery (Main Office), 1400 S. Wolf Road, Hillside, IL 60162.
