Cagney Charles McReynolds Wenk

Cagney Charles McReynolds Wenk, beloved husband of Jessica Li, father of Levon Robbie; son of Dennis Wenk and Manette McReynolds; brother to Marissa Ann and Natalie Mary passed away at home December 23, 2016 in Longmont, Colorado surrounded by his family and friends.

Cagney was born on July 3, 1990 and grew up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois graduating with honors from Glenbard West High School in 2008 before attending University of Colorado Boulder, Engineering School.

Cagney loved the Glenbard West Drumline, participating in Marching and Symphonic Band at Glenbard West High School, while also playing on the soccer and tennis teams. Snowboarding, flyfishing and music were his passions.

Cagney was diagnosed with a Stage 4 Glioblastoma Brain Tumor on August 31, 2016 but was blessed to witness the birth of his son, Levon Robbie on September 18, 2016 while being lovingly cared for in the ICU at Boulder Foothills Community Hospital.

Friends and family were extremely important in his life. Cagney leaves behind cherished memories of a host of family that includes loving aunts and uncles, Michelle McReynolds and Jimmy Sibigtroth, Judy and Frank McDermott, Susan and Tony Provenzano, Jeannie Gardner, John and Sue Gardner, Steven and Karen Wenk, Vincent Ackley: numerous cousins and devoted friends.

Cagney was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul J. and Mary Lou McReynolds, Barbara J. and Charles M. Wenk, his aunt Rebecca (Wenk) Ackley; and his uncle, Paul M. McReynolds.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00pm at the First Congregational Church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wenk Family or the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University.
