Bonnie Zimmerman Obituary

Bonnie S. Zimmerman, age 57; beloved wife of Rev. Donald E. Zimmerman; loving mother of Ryan (Michelle), Matthew, Justin (Christina) Zimmerman, & Brandon Hoyos. Bonnie and Rev. Zimmerman were married at the First Baptist Church in Downers Grove in 1977. They served there for 5 years as youth and music Pastor. They returned in 1985 as Senior Pastor and have served there together up until this time. Bonnie had a significant ministry to the women and children of the church. She was known for her ability to encourage everybody and care for people in need. She started a ministry for the widows of the church called, "Joyful Again" and had a special ministry to women who had gone through abortions. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation was Tuesday, January 26th and Funeral Services were Wednesday, January 27th at First Baptist Church of Downers Grove. Interment was at Clarendon Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to First Baptist Church, for the Baptist Haiti Mission.
