Bonnie Hurst Obituary

Bonnie Jean Hurst, 77, a 47-year La Grange resident, passed away February 28, 2008 at La Grange Memorial Hospital. Bonnie was born January 28, 1931. She worked at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago and volunteered at St. Vincent's Orphanage in Chicago. She was a member of the Vocal and Bell Choirs of St. Francis Xavier Church in La Grange for many years. She also volunteered at St. Francis Xavier school reading program for many years. Bonnie was a "Second-mom" to a lot of children for many years as a babysitter. She loved and enjoyed being with her family. She loved the Ocean Beach Pier in San Diego, CA. Visitation was held Monday, March 3, 2008 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W 55th St., Countryside, IL 60525. Mass 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, La Grange, IL following prayers at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Interment private. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Thomas Hurst, D.P.M.; Children, Kathy (Mike) Littlefield of San Diego, CA; Mike (Jayne) Hurst of Temecula, CA, Kim (Rick) Picone of Downers Grove, IL, John (Debbie) Hurst of Fox Lake, IL: and a foster son, Greg Behnke; Grandchildren, Matthew (Florence) Nault, Sara, Jessica and Hannah Littlefield, Mike, Nick, Samantha, Joey and Jimmy Hurst, Gina and Scott Picone; Great-grandson, Benjamin Nault; Brother, Terry (Lola) Lindquist of Andover, MN and many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements handled by Hallowell & James Funeral Home, (708) 352-6500.
