BRIGGS, Beverly Jean, "Bev" (Whitney) age 92, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025. Born on November 30th, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the beloved daughter of Herbert Edward and Clara May Whitney.
Bev was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Briggs; two older brothers, Bob and Herb; her older sister, Elsie.
She is survived by her son, Steve Briggs; two granddaughters, Shea and Faith Briggs.
Bev resided in Clarendon Hills, Illinois since 1969, where she was a secretary for many real estate companies and was featured on Daisy Field Life magazine . She married Richard Briggs on May 1, 1954.
Bev was an active member of Community Presbyterian Church of Clarendon Hills and enjoyed her position as a Deacon. Bev had boundless energy and enthusiasm that was contagious to those around her; she made friends wherever she went. She engaged in outdoor activities such as walking with her dogs, riding her bike, or swimming laps at the local Clarendon Hills pool. Animals played a significant role in Bev's life; she enjoyed feeding birds and squirrels, visiting the zoo, and dog sitting. She dedicated time to raising Monarch Butterflies and releasing them out into the world. Bev had a devoted passion for travel; having visited all 50 states as well as over 15 countries, including Canada, France, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Germany, England, Czechoslovakia, among others.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 13th 1pm-3pm at Community Presbyterian Church of Clarendon Hills. Bev had so many friends and lives that she impacted.
