Bernice McClinton Obituary

Bernice M. McClinton, just shy of her 85th birthday, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011. She was a longtime resident of LaGrange. She and her husband, the late Roosevelt McClinton owned several businesses in LaGrange, most remembered for the community grocery store and market on Cossitt Avenue. She was a member of Davis Memorial AME Church. She devoted her life to God, her church and family. She was a beloved mother of Claudia (Neville) Godfry, Teotha McClinton and Regina McClinton (Freddie Dickerson). Service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011. Wake 10 a.m. Funeral 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church of LaGrange, 26 Washington Avenue, LaGrange, Illinois 60525. Visitation Friday, March 25, 4-7 p.m. at Corbin Funeral Chapel, 1001 Madison Street, Maywood, IL 60153.

To all the family, Your mother, Bernice was wonderful. I remember how she and my mother (Lubertha Armour) would talk in the backyard. Mr. and Mrs. McClinton also raised three awsome children.
