Antoinette Ercolano Obituary

Newburgh, NY

Antoinette Ercolano, a 50-year resident of Newburgh and retired seamstress, entered into rest on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was 90.

Daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maddalena Sassi Tedeschi, she was born June 13, 1918 in Isernia, Italy. She was married to Pietro Ercolano who predeceased her in 1990.

Antoinette was a loving, devoted mother to her family and friends, whom she cherished. Her famous saying was "You have to have patience". Mom left us on her birthday, which also is the feast day of St. Anthony.

She is survived by her loving children, Peter Ercolano and his wife, Lori, Maria Gildersleeve and her husband, Bob, and Dora Corrado and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, Michael Corrado, Jr., Joseph Corrado and his wife, Karen, Anthony Corrado and his wife, Donna, Diana LeBlanc and her husband, Michael, David Gildersleeve and his wife, Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Kristen, Angela, Jessica, Joseph Jr., Brianna and Sarah.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 16, at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh.

Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Antoinette's memory may be made to Sacred Heart School, 24 South Robinson Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550, or the American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.

Pete: Your mom and dad, my god parents. Will always remain wonderful, wonderful, people and role models to me and ny family. They were extraordinary people. My entire life from birth till adulthood even, when I lived abroard in Europe they never once forgot a birthday wish to me. I feel blessed for having been touched by them.
