So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Beals. He was a great teacher, mentor and most of all FRIEND to his students. I called him several times over the years, to touch base or ask him a question. He had a great philosophy on life, which will live long with his students.

He was one of my most memorable professors at NCSU. His willingness and ability to reach out and connect with others is a rare gift. It was an honor to make his acquaintance on this side of life and I know we will meet again!

So sorry for your loss, pray that God will comfort you during this time and he weeks to come. Knew he always cared for you know matter who you were, and always made time for his students. Made my years 75-77 better and was always thankful to have know him.

Allen was a great man, a wonderful gentleman with character and goodness in his heart. The world has been lucky to have such a quality individual. Although I have missed seeing him in years now, he has not been forgotten, nor will he be. Allen was always helpful with his knowledge in so many areas, always kind, always interesting but especially, always a friend. I enjoyed so much talking to him and helping him load his beautiful cedar furniture when he sometimes transferred some he hand made to so many others so they too could enjoy his work and passion. He is truly a man to be proud of, your family is so blessed to have had Allen in your family, and the world is blessed to have had him in our presents.

Betsy I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Allen Beals. He was a great mentor to me as I was studying at NCSU's Ag Institute in 1980 & 82. He encouraged me in many ways. He was a great man that will be greatly missed by many. One interesting thing about Mr. Beals he could talk with you just a few minutes and almost pinpoint where you were from in NC.

Betsy, My heart goes out to you and your family. I can not imagine the loss you must feel, but he sounds like a great person. Knowing you, I am sure he was the best :) <3

Mr. Beals was a treasured part of the Agricultural Institute and NC State. He will be missed tremendously! My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

We were so sorry to read of Allen's passing. My twin sister and I grew up in Annapolis and attended Annapolis High. Our fathers worked together at The Experiment Station. My father loved to go to Allen's wrestling matches and so did we. While working at ARE we came to realize what a great person he was -- always caring and sharing and telling us about his "Betsy" (the love of his life). He was a true friend and will be greatly missed. We pray that The Lord will give you strength and His peace which surpasses all understanding.

Mr. Beals was a teacher of mine and a mentor in my years in the Ag Institute. He was a great man. I have the upmost respect for him. I know you will miss him. Praying for you and the entire family.

Mr. Beals taught me accounting while I was in the Ag Institute back in 1981. Because of dedicated professors like Allen Beals, I was inspired to complete my Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. He was a truly special person and I appreciate the life he lived and the good he did for NCSU, North Carolina and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.

Mr. Beals, was a good teacher enjoyed his class and learned a lot, he will be missed. Prayers go out to his Family.

Mr. Beals taught me Accounting at State in 1982. I had a Landscape Business for 15yrs in Wilmington and am now the Landscape Supervisor at the N.C. State Fair. I remember him fondly and I am sorry for your loss. Dudley Baggett

I was a student of Mr. Beals in '85 and '86. He always had a talent for teaching in such a way that it was enjoyable to be in class. He prepared us to be successful at business and farming. It would be impossible to put a value on what he has taught through the years.

I had Mr. Beals during my time at NC State University in 1978-1979.He was a tough and thorough teacher but always had time to help a student and answer any questions you may have. He was one of my favorite instructors while at NC State. My condolences go out to his family.

Allen always had a smile, a wave, and a cheerful comment. I would see him outside woodworking as I reached my turn around point at the gate to Umstead State Park on my daily runs over the years.

My mother has two of his benches in her yard and likes to sit on them when the weather is nice.

Words of adequate impact will not come to me now to fully express my sincere appreciation for Allen's friendship over these past 48 years. When asked to do a job, no matter how difficult or involved, he did it with a smile and was not happy until the job was don well and completed. No matter how you were feeling, a visit with Allen always left you feeling better. What a rare and wonderful talent. Allen will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. I remember many garden tips he gave me. And many friends have remarked to Christine and me about the many beautiful pieces of furniture Allen made for us. He was a kind and gentle man.

Mrs. Beals & Family, Allen was one of my instructors in 1970, he made learning more enjoyable, he really cared for his students. I often would see him at farm sales and enjoy time talking about equipment and days NSCU etc. God Bless, Chip Bristow, Granville County

My friend for many long years. I will miss his friendship! Allen was definitely a student's friend and he had many. He was always talking about visiting or seeing an AGI graduate or student and he continued to keep in contact with many of them and took pride in accomplishments of the graduates. Betsy, you captured many photos of events and happenings for Allen which hopefully will be a source of comfort to you and your family.

Betsy and Family,

Although I didn't know Allen until after he retired from NCSU, I found him to be as fine a person as one could meet. He was so kind to bring his summer garden produce to the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ARE) to share with those who did not have fresh vegetables. And, had it not been for Allen and a few others, we wouldn't have had such spectacular departmental picnics most every May or June.

Life is so fragile, and we don't realize just how fragile it is until times like this.

Please accept my deepest condolescences for your family. Allen will be greatly missed by so many people. May God bless you in dealing with the grief ahead and leave you with the many good memories of Allen.
