Alaine Laheta Obituary

Alaine C. Laheta, 84, of Downers Grove passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Rest Haven West in Downers Grove. She was born March 10, 1924 in Long Island, NY until moving to Chicago in 1949 and then moved to Downers Grove in 1957. She married the late John Laheta, Jr. in 1949. She graduated from John Adams High School in Long Island, NY. She was employed at Pepperidge Farms and retired after 14 years of service. She was a member of the Home Makers Club of Downers Grove. She is survived by her daughter, Joann (John) Lloyd of Downers Grove, IL; sons, John Laheta of Downers Grove and Bill (Chris) Laheta of Clarendon Hills, IL; six grandchildren, Jesse Laheta, Kim and Brian Lloyd and Lauren, Jenny and Jacqueline Laheta; two great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Brianna and sister, Lorraine Talsma of Newport Richey, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Laheta, Jr, in 1973 and brothers, Richard and Jerry Salisbury. Visitation and services were held on Monday, October 20, 2008 at Toon Funeral Home, 4920 Main Street, Downers Grove, IL. Interment was private. Arrangements were under the care of the Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, IL. Sign the online guestbook at www.gurneefuneralhome.com.
